AYEEEEE

Hey guys, sorry about my unannounced hiatus of sorts. I've been a bit busy lately, which has taken time from blogging and what not. Just know that I haven't forsaken you guys! Anyways, I hope anyone has/had (it's a bit late in the day) a great Christmas! Starting tomorrow, I plan to start posting a bit more regularly, so I suggest you guys mentally prepare yourself for the utter awesomeness that is sure to ensue.

So what did you guys get for the holidays?

Pretty Good Day

So, as the title suggests, I had a pretty good day. Ran some errands with my dad, then headed over to Guitar Center to get my cab and some new cables and stuff. That cab was probably one of the heaviest cabs that I've ever had to lift. After that, I went to Target and got some cosmetics and stuff for my mom for Christmas. Women dig cosmetics. After that I went to the mall with my friend Joel because we were waiting for our friend Jojo to get off of work and she works near the mall. I ended up getting a new parka that I saw at H&M a month or two ago. Originally it was 70 dollars, but it was 50% off :) After that Joel and I met up with Jojo and then we met up with our other friend Caitlin. Chilled at her house for quite some time and pretty much just watched the end of Titanic and ate a ton of her food, but that's okay because her house is LOADED with food. Then we went over to this dude Lee's house. Now... I've never met Lee before, but my friends told me that I'd probably like him. That guy was RIDICULOUS. But in a good way. Probably one of the funniest guys I've ever met. Then we eventually left and I got home at 12 and that's pretty much it. Good first half of the weekend for me!

Well good first half, except for I drove pretty much throughout all of the Bay Area today. Not cool, man. I hate paying for gas.

Hoo Ha

Today wasn't super eventful, but it wasn't bad. I went to my friend's house (as I do quite often because he lives down the street from me) and played some Call of Duty. Now, I'm not really into video games anymore, and even when I was into video games, I wasn't really terribly fond of the FPS genre. I've watched my friend Dean play COD countless times and the past few days I've been playing as well and... it's kind of fun. Not gonna lie, I'm pretty pro at wager matches haha. Anyways, I also brought over my bass amp so he could use it for the battle of the bands that was tonight. He had to leave for sound check and I went home. When 7pm rolled around, my friend Kyle and I went down to the performing arts center to watch battle of the bands. Hoooooly crap, there are some crappy bands out there. Most of them weren't very good, but they all have my respect just for going out there. My friends' band, Aviadora, won. Speaking of music, tomorrow I'm getting my new amp at Guitar Center. Ordered the head online today and it should be here by Monday. Getting the cab, like I said, tomorrow at Guitar Center. It's also supposed to be stormy as hell tomorrow... should be interesting hauling a 60-80 pound speaker cabinet to my car in pouring rain. Also, this one chick has been on my nuts quite a bit this past week and I'm not sure how I feel about it. She's not bad looking by any means and she has a nice personality, but I just don't like her that way. Supposed to hang out with her and a few other people tomorrow night... we'll see how that goes.

I hope everyone has a good Saturday!

Edit: Boy, am I glad that Blogger periodically saves drafts while you're writing stuff. I somehow accidentally hit ctrl+w, which closed my browser and I was about to be PISSED if I had to write that whole thing again.

Yep

So I had my physics final today at 12. It was nice to sleep in a little bit more than usual. That final was pretty much a joke. A few days ago, my professor posted up a practice final on his website and emailed us the answers so we could study from it. But our final was also open note... so I just wrote down all 92 questions/answers of the practice final, figuring that my professor is probably just gonna slightly change the problems from that for the actual final... sure enough I was right. Pretty sure I got like at least a 98% on that haha.

On my way home I returned the defective deodorant that I wrote about yesterday. Flawless victory. Got my $4.39 back woooo. After that I ate some bagel bites and played guitar/watched hockey for the rest of the afternoon. I'm going to my old high school's battle of the bands tomorrow... most of the bands are probably going to suck, but my friend's band, Aviadora, is playing. I honestly don't think they're thatttt great either, but whatever. And seeing as how it's technically Friday where I live, happy Friday everyone!

This was basically me this morning before I left for school. Daytime TV sucks.

Thursday, December 16, 2010

So todayyyy I had my math final. Surprisingly, it wasn't too bad. I didn't really study for it because I'm lazy, but I'm pretty sure that I aced it. In order to end the class with an A, I only needed to get an 85% on it, so I think I'm good. After I finished that I stopped at Safeway on my way home. I got some off-brand Bagel Bites and some deodorant. Random combination, huh? Well, last week I got some deodorant and the little twisty thing on the bottom didn't work... but I had already thrown away the receipt. So today I bought the same kind, and I'm gonna return the non-working one using my more recent receipt saying that it doesn't work. Pretty genius if you ask me!

Anyways, tomorrow I have my physics final, which I'm not stressing about because it's open note. I'll get back to my normal routines tomorrow because I'll pretty much be done with the semester by then. I hope everyone's having a good week! :)

Oh, and I was watching Hey Arnold today, and since that's from my childhood, I thought this would be appropriate:

Aye

Dang it, I was doing a good job of posting everyday, up until yesterday. I was really busy writing an essay for my English class. It was on this crappy book about this antiwar activist dude in the 1960's. I'd say that my essay is about 85% BS, but I don't really care anymore because it's pretty much the end of the semester.

Anyways, I don't really have too much else to say. I've just been studying for finals lately, and my dad has had this terrible cough for the past week and a half and it's driving me INSANE.

Trees

Damn, Christmas trees these days just aren't what they used to be. Today my dad and I went to our usual spot to get a Christmas tree for this year (even though we're not even Christian... kind of strange that we celebrate Christmas). Let me tell you what, the selection this year sucked balls. They had a bunch of trees this year; more than usual, but most of them weren't really that great. We were kind of looking for a smallish/medium sized tree. Not one of those little 1 foot baby trees, but maybe something like 5 feet or so. Most of the trees in that range were labeled as GF and cost 28 bucks. After wandering around for a while, though, I found one of the more expensive trees (usually labeled as FF) that was mislabeled as GF and it was priced at $32. All the other trees around it were $38. So we took advantage of their mislabeling and bought it. It's a little bigger than we were looking for, but at least it's nice. Now I need to get my Christmas shopping done... which is a pain in the ass. It's not that I'm cheap or that I don't want to get gifts for my friends and family, it's just that I don't know what to get. Oh well. Looks like I'm going to get the guitar amp that I want for Christmas from my parents.

Now for a completely unrelated captcha comic!

What are you guys hoping to get for the holidays?

;asjdf;ij

So I just finished watching a movie called Stay. It came out in like 2005 and features actors and actresses that I've never heard of. I though that it was pretty good, despite apparently having a lot of mixed reviews. It's one of those psychological thriller movies that you're confused about the whole time until the very end. Even after it ended, I was still confused. I ended up googling "Stay movie explanation", which gave me a bit of a clearer idea, but there are still a few things that are fuzzy. Gonna have to watch it again.

Anyways, I think I'll go on a bit of a rant. Just a small one, though. Alright aaaaaand here we go. I really don't like dumb people. Of course, I mean that in the nicest way possible. For example, there's this girl that I sit next to in my physics class. She's somewhat cute, and really nice. She always gives me candy and always offers to buy me something at the taco truck. She's not exactly that smart though. In class, we were talking about transformers and how they worked and stuff. And our professor said that we would watch a video about transformers. This girl thought that we were talking about transformers as in... you know... like the movie with Optimus Prime and what not. Yeah... enough said.

Back to the movie topic. What type of movies do you guys like?

Pretty Good Day

As the title suggests, I've had a pretty good day. Before I get into that that, though, I would like to share a small portion of yesterday! While walking back to my school (or college, whatever) from lunch, when I heard some dudes yelling at each other. Two guys (one black, one hispanic-ish) were pretty heated about something and they were getting in each other's faces and pushing and what not, while a few people were gathered around telling them to calm down (which obviously wasn't working) one of them hit the other in the face and then it kinda dispersed as some ghetto chick cussed out the black dude. Then a whole bunch of campus security dudes rolled up in their cars and made a big deal out of it. Just thought I'd let you guys know haha.

Anyways, I've had a pretty decent day today if I do says so myself. It's been raining all day, which is good because I really enjoy rain. I also had a math test today. It ended up being a little harder than I expected but I think I still did well on it. Then I had English and I just kinda spaced out during that class. When I got home I waited for the UPS guy to deliver my guitar. When he did I was prettyyyy excited. Not gonna lie, it's pretty freaking nice haha. After that I played it for a while while watching the San Jose Sharks hockey game. It ended up being a really entertaining game, probably one of the more exciting games that I've seen in all my years of playing and watching the sport.

What sports do you guys like? If you like sports, that is haha.

Hoorayyyyy

Finally broke 100 followers today! Haha I always see people making posts about getting 100 followers, and now it's my turn. Anyways, tonight I was going to go to a promo shoot with my friend's band buuuuut that ended up not really working out because I couldn't get a hold of my dad to tell him that I wasn't gonna be home tonight. My guitar that I talked about the other SHOULD be here by Wednesday, but according to the UPS tracking thing, it's somewhere between Texas and my house (which is in California). The crappy thing is that I'm probably not going to be home when they try to drop it off, so then I'm gonna have to drive down to the distribution center and pick it up the next day. Oh well, better than no guitar. Sorry for the kind of lack-luster post today. Hopefully I'll post something better tomorrow or the next day. OOHHHHH CRAP I just remember that I have a big math test tomorrow. I should probably start studying for that!

Lazy Sunday

It's been kind of a lazy day for me, but it hasn't been bad. Last night I watched Forgetting Sarah Marshall and The Hangover, both hilarious movies that I've seen a few times each. Then this afternoon I told off my ex-girlfriend, which was pretty good I suppose. It felt good to genuinely not really care about it anymore haha. I guess Forgetting Sarah Marshall rubbed off on me! I then went out to lunch with my dad. Just got some bagels. The rest of the day I spent listening to angry music and briefly chilling with my friend Dean. Overall a pretty okay weekend for me.

How was your weekend?

Cartoons

So lately a bunch of my friends on Facebook have changed their profile pictures to characters from their favorite childhood cartoons. It got me thinking about the cartoons of my childhood as well. As an early 90's kid, I was pretty much mostly into those old Nickelodeon shows. Shows like Doug, Rocko's Modern Life, Hey Arnold!, Rocket Power, Invader Zim, Aaahh!!! Real Monsters, Rugrats, The Ren and Stimpy Show, Double Dare, GUTS, Legends of the Hidden Temple, Kenan and Kel, Dragonball Z, and Spongebob (though Spongebob is still running, most the new episodes are terrible) were among my favorites.

What were your favorite childhood cartoons?

You know, I really don't like it when people get stuff handed to them. A certain friend of mine just got a brand new guitar amp. This amp costs about $1800. Also, he's not even very good at guitar, but that's besides the point. Now, normally, I would have no qualms with this, but the problem is that my friend pretty much gets everything handed to him on a silver platter by his parents. This particular friend also got a 2010 Chevy Silverado earlier this year, as well as who knows what. Nice kid, though. </rant>

Back...

Alright, sorry I haven't been on for a bit. Okay... maybe it's been more than a "bit", but I'm back. So lately, I've just been chilling at school and hanging out with friends and what not. Pretty much the usual, but for some reason I've been getting bombarded with various projects and tests in school, which is part of the reason why I've been inactive as of late. In addition, I'm still on the job hunt. I'm applying to Papa Murphy's today because there's a new location opening up around here. I don't really want to work there, but it'll hold me over until I find somewhere else to work. Fortunately, though, I'm actually okay money-wise due to financial aid. I think I'm going to buy a new guitar within the next week. Probably going to get an ESP LTD EC-1000. Pretty good guitar. It's usually about $750, but I'm getting a brand new one for $550. That's a bit more than I'd like to spend on a guitar, but it's such a good deal that I don't think I can pass it up.

In other news, North Korea is scary.

What has everyone else been up to lately?

Halloween

So yesterday was Halloween. I had an alright time I suppose. In the evening I went trick-or-treating with my friend, despite being 18. I wasn't really planning on going trick-or-treating, though, so, unfortunately, I had to conjure up one of my costumes from prior years. I decided that I'd just go with being a communist again. Scariest costume ever, right? I had a long trench coat, red shirt, and one of those big hats. My friend was a nerd. We got quite a few weird looks and there was this one middle-aged lady who was quite reluctant to give us candy. Hooray for free candy! After a while, we went to our friends house for a "party", which turned out to just be a few people sitting around and hanging out. Not much of a party, but it was still chill.

Other than that, though, I haven't really been up to much lately. I went to a show/concert on Friday. It was probably the best or at least one of the best shows that I've ever been to, and I've been to quite a few shows. Also, over the past few days, I've cut up a few old shirts and made them into tank tops. They look way better now haha.

In other news, regarding Prop 19:

Thursday, October 28, 2010

Welp, it's been a few days since I've updated this thing. I've been somewhat busy lately and have found it difficult to find time to write a new blog between going to school and hanging out with friends. Well, and because I'm kind of lazy haha.

Right now I'm just sitting by myself under a tree in kind of a chill, secluded area of my school. Many people don't really like being alone, but I honestly don't mind it. It's kind of relaxing to just be able to sit and think and observe your surroundings. It's especially nice on a beautiful day like this! Yeah... Don't really know where I was going with that...

Lately I've been meaning to just lay down and watch a movie, but I haven't really gotten around to it. I enjoy all kinds of movies, though. I like comedy movies, action's alright, I also like a lot of drama and (no homo) romance-ish movies. A few of my favorite movies include:

Borat
Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind
I Am Legend
The Pursuit of Happyness

Well my class is about to start, so I must be going. Hopefully the cute girl is there this time. I'll probably write a batter blog entry when I get home haha. Peace.

Music and What Not

I'm not really too sure what to write about today, so I figured I might as well right about music, seeing as I really enjoy both listening to and playing music. A lot of people think that I just listen to "screamo" based on how I look. Honestly, I don't know what "screamo" is. I listen to many different genres of music and I'm probably a lot more musically diverse than people would expect me to me. Some of the genres that I listen to (in alphabetical order, by the way) include: acoustic (not really a genre, but whatever), alternative, country, death metal, deathcore, emo, folk, grindcore, hardcore, hardcore/pop punk, indie, industrial, jazz, melodic hardcore, metal, metalcore, new age piano, pop, pop punk, post-hardcore, punk, R&B, rap, reggae, rock, and soul. As well as this, I also listen to quite a few bands that probably don't really fit into a genre. I really love music. I feel that there's a song for almost every situation and emotion in life. Just as a painter can look at a painting and be able to understand the message and the emotions portrayed by a painting, I feel that music can function the exact same way. It saddens me that people are getting so much exposure on television and the radio for creating music with no emotions or messages of any kind. Not that I really have a gigantic problem with mainstream music, don't get me wrong, I like some of the songs on the radio just as much as the next guy, but I think it's kind of messed up for talentless people to get famous when there are many other musicians who put there heart and soul into their work and get almost no credit. Oh well, that's life. </rant>

Here's a list of a few of my all time favorite bands/artists and their respective genres. They're all REALLY good haha. I recommend checking one of the bands out, if their genre seems like something you'd listen to.

Brand New (Alternative/Indie)
Circa Survive (Alternative/Experimental/Indie)
City & Colour (Acoustic/Indie/Folk)
For the Fallen Dreams (Melodic Hardcore)
It Prevails (Melodic Hardcore)
Park (Alternative/Indie/Emo)
Parkway Drive (Metalcore)
Taking Back Sunday (Alternative/Emo)

Also, here are a few bands that I've been listening to lately:

Angels & Airwaves (Alternative)
Chelsea Grin (Deathcore)
Dream On, Dreamer (Post-Harcore)
Take Charge (Deathcore)
1997 (Alternative/Indie)

Oh yeah, I like Ray Charles too. Ray was an excellent movie:

What are some of your favorite bands, artists, or genres?

Alright

So today, my dad and I got in a fat argument. Well actually, he was the only one arguing. I was being polite and respectful, while he, on the other hand, was being rude and kept interrupting me. While we were on our way to Target I was talking calmly and he interrupted me. One of my pet peeves. I calmly said "Can you please not interrupt me? I don't like it when you do that." He promptly swerved to the side of the road (crazily) and said "Get out of my car. I've had enough of you." What a nice guy! Not. Oh well. I saw him while I was walking home and since then the tension has lightened. Other than that, nothing else has really happened today. The weather has been great! I like rain :). Oh, also, my friend Scott came over today. He sells kitchen knives for some company and he wanted to give his presentation to my dad. I was really surprised with how professional and knowledgeable he was. My dad got a few kitchen knives from him. They're expensive, but they're really well made and are of pretty high quality. Speaking of jobs... I really need one. For a while, I've been trying to get a job at my local Trader Joe's. My aunt is like a manager or something of a different Trader Joe's and has been trying to hook me up with a job at my local one, but it's not really up to her unfortunately. Alternatively, I've also been trying to get a job at Zumiez. Get money, get paid. Disregard women, acquire currency.

Now for some toilet humor:

Things That Bug Me

Yesterday, my dad pissed me off, which inspired me to write a blog about other a few other things that bug me as well.

1. I hate it when I'm talking to someone and I feel like they're not even paying attention. This is what happened between my dad and I yesterday. I was talking to him about something, and his reply had absolutely nothing to do with what I was explaining to him. It upset me because the least he could do is PRETEND that he was listening and say something like "Oh, interesting" or "I see what you mean".

2. This kind of goes with the first one, but I dislike it when I'm interrupted. Not that I think that I deserve the utmost respect or anything, but after being interrupted a few times in a row, it starts to annoy me.

3. I don't like it when people always ask me for rides or for me to pick them up. If I get compensated gas money or something, then it's all good, but I'm not your chauffeur.

4. Traffic pisses me off. Enough said.

5. It annoys me when people purposely speak in an unintelligible vernacular. As well as this, I don't like it when people make absolutely no effort type out or spell out words correctly. Things like that simply make you look uneducated.

I'll possibly update this throughout the day.

UPDATE:
6. I hate wet socks.

Uhhh

So far, today has been mildly interesting suppose. After my math class got out early today, I headed down to the taco truck that's parked on campus. From there I got a pastrami sandwhich. After that, I met up with my friend Ian and we talked for a while until he had his next class. After he left, a band started playing in the courtyard. They started out by playing a cover of "Come Together" by The Beatles. It was alright. I couldn't hear the vocals very well. They played a few more songs while I sat on the grass and watched them. They were kind of a clownshow, but they have my respect, simply for playing their music and doing what they love (that sounds really cheesy haha). While watching, I ran into three of my classmates and had nice conversations with each of them, before I had to leave for my physics class. Currently, I am sitting in class while listening to my professor ramble on about air pressure or something. My professor is pretty insane. He makes absolutely no sense and is quite eccentric. I honestly think that he might have some sort of mental deficiency or something. Well I should probably try to pay attention, even though it will surely be to no avail, due to my professor's behavior. I'll probably edit this blog when I get home and include a funny picture. Now I'm thirsty and the one cute girl in this class isn't even here today :( oh woe is me!

Now, for the updated funny picture:

k

Alright, I'm new to this blogger thing, so I figure that I'll just write (or "blog") about my day so far. This may potentially be boring. Bare with me. So today, my alarm went of at 8:15 as it does every weekday (except Fridays). Today, though, I felt particularly tired, so I set it to snooze. After 9 minutes, I got up, took a shower got ready, etc. I was a bit late meeting up with my friend Ian after I had driven to school (I go to community college -_-). I wasn't late to class, just late for meeting up with my friend. Anyways, after that, I went to my math class. My professor handed back our 2nd midterms that we did last week. I got 100%! So far I've been doing pretty freaking good in that class. Then we learned about graphing secant functions and what not. Pretty easy stuff. Then I went to my English class in which we discussed the book that we've been reading. We've been reading The Mole People by Jennifer Toth. It's a book about underground homeless living in New York City. It's somewhat interesting, but not really interesting enough for me to keep up with the assigned reading. After class, I drove down to In N Out and got myself a double double, well-done fries, and a chocolate shake. Then I went home, watched some Spongebob and then headed down to my friend Dean's house. There, we played Geometry Wars and we also started writing a new song for our band. That's about all I've done today, and I am currently typing this on my laptop while watching Dean play Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. He's being pretty cheap. Noobtubing with one man army. Not cool.

Now, for your enjoyment:
